On the morning after the wedding, we were invited to a brunch at Burger Continental. It was nice to see everyone one more time before we had to hustle back to the craziness of LAX for our flight home.
The first weekend in March I traveled to Pasadena, CA for my cousin Lauren's wedding. She married a great guy named Chris. They have been dating since high school. I believe they have been dating almost 10 years total! My parents and brother also flew to California for the nuptials. It was a beautiful wedding. Her colors were dark green and burgundy. The ceremony and reception were held at the Cal Tech Athenaeum. This is a building that was built in the 1920's (I believe). Its purpose is to serve as a sort of club for professors and other esteemed community members. There are several large reception halls and about 15 hotel rooms on the second floor. Here is a link to their website. http://athenaeum.caltech.edu/ In the 1930's Albert Einstein and his wife stayed in one of the suites when he came for a two-month sojurn. They named the suite after him and my parents were able to
reserve it for their stay. It was a great suite with two rooms, a fireplace, and pics of Einstein on the walls. Here are some pictures of my family in the Einstein suite before the wedding started.
The ceremony was so nice. There was a string quartet. The highlight of the ceremony was when my cousin, Hannah, who was one of the flower girls, threw her rose petals on t
he guests instead of on the aisle runner. Everyone was cracking up. It was cute!
The reception was memorable also. There was live music and a lavish meal. The entree was duck. My parents got out there and cut a rug. It was fun to watch them dance!
At the wedding, we took
the opportunity to take a pic of all the McCall cousins together. We think this is the first pic of all of us together. Amazing!
