Lane's First Fourth of July

Dear Lane,
It has been a big month, buddy. You are a CRAWLER!! You started crawling about 2 days after your 8 month birthday. We were pumped, but also a little nervous because we had to scramble to baby-proof! All is well now, but it did take a little adjusting. You love electrical cords, shoes, Lefty's water bowl, and Lefty's food bowl, so we have to keep those things off the ground. It's a constant shuffling of stuff!! You tried lots of new foods this month. You had spaghetti and meatballs (blended in a blender), saltines, sweet potato Puffs, graham crackers, and some others that I am forgetting right now. We went on our first Mommy/Daddy overnight getaway. Nevie and Kent babysat you for the weekend. You were a model baby. They got lots of smiles and coos and you even went straight to bed each night. Kent was the sole babysitter most of the weekend as Nana had to attend her sister's funeral in Duncanville. Kent was a trooper! Great job, Pop! We introduced you to the sippy cup this month, but you are still learning how to do it. The daycare workers told us you were stealing the other baby's sippy cups, so we decided to send one to daycare with you. At your 9 month doctor's appointment, you weighed 19 pounds, 2 ounces and were 28''. Your head circumferance was in the 70th percentile. It was a great month and we can't wait to see what you are up to next!

Genny's Diaper Sprinkle

We had a diapers and wipes Sprinkle for Genny and baby Beau on Saturday, June 23rd. It was a really nice party and she scored LOTS of diapers and wipes. We served fruit with dip, cheese ball with strawberry preserves, rum cake, Symphony brownies, almond tea, and coffee ice cream punch. The shower was just in time because baby Beau made his appearance the next week, a full month early! Welcome to the world, Beau Russell Davis!! Congratulations Gen, Russ, and big sister Harper Nell! We're sending lots of prayers your way that Beau can come home soon from the NICU.

Lane's Sip and See

My fabulous mom hosted a 'Sip and See' party for Lane in Waco. All her sweet friends showed up to meet Lane and ooh and ahhh over him. He was perfectly behaved. The theme was 'trains'. Everything was beautiful. Thanks for a memorable party, Mom!

Hoolihan 2012

8 months

Dear Lane, You had a great month. You were very busy this month. You cut two new teeth to bring you to a total of three. They are all on the bottom. You got to meet our friend, Lance, when he came through town for work. You spent a lot of time with Nana and Pop when Daddy and I went out for Hoolihan and a couple of other parties. We bought a 8' blow-up pool and you enjoyed splashing around in it. Nana and Pop bought you a swimsuit with life jacket built in and you look smashing in it. We went to the ranch several times this month and you really like swinging on the front porch swing. We took our first really long road trip (7 hours) to Lake Bob Sandlin to visit your great Aunt Bette and great Uncle Paul, AKA BeBe and PauPau. You loved the trip, especially the stroll through the woods. It was a great month and you continued to grow and develop right before our eyes.

Visit from Uncle Lance

Our good friend, Lance Pendley, was in town today for business and stopped by to meet Lane. Lance is like a brother to me, so it meant a lot to me that he was able to meet our little man. Great to see you, Lance!

BeBe and PauPau's House

We visited BeBe and PauPau's house at Lake Bob Sandlin two weekends ago. Lane had a blast visting with Uncle Harv, BeBe, PauPau, Mimi, and Dado. We went on walks through the woods and went on rides on the Ranger ATV. We ate a lot and enjoyed time doing nothing sitting on the deck. Thanks for a great weekend, Aunt Bette and Uncle Paul. Dang, it was a good time!
