Leather Anniversary

We celebrated our three year wedding anniversary this week. I didn't buy the Hubs a leather item, but I did get him an Academy gift card, so in theory, he 'could' buy something made of leather there. Leland surprised me with roses at work on Tuesday. It meant a lot to me because he was very busy with work, so I was touched that he remembered to order something in advance. Thanks for three great years, babe!

Super-Baby!

It's a bird?!? It's a plane?!? It's Lane the freight train super baby Lacy!! Look at that form. His back is so straight. We are so proud!

January 2012 Snow

We received over 2.5'' of snow on Monday, January 9th in San Angelo. Through the night I kept hearing sounds like a car door shutting. It turns out that it was limbs from our two gorgeous live oak trees in our front yard breaking off. Here are pics of what we found on Tuesday morning. :(

3 months

Dear Lane,

You have been on this Earth for three months now. You were very busy this month. You continued to do well at day care. Miss Kristi, Miss Teresa, Miss Kelli, and Miss Anjalie love you so much; you are already a charmer. You had your first Christmas this month. Mommy had a couple of super cute onesies embroidered for you for Christmas. You looked so cute in them. You had your infant pictures taken at Great Expectations Photography. Thanks Annette! They turned out great and you didn't even pee on anything when we did your 'naked baby' pics! Mommy was a little nervous about that! Your first Christmas was wonderful. Nana and Mimi picked out the same stocking for you from LL Bean. It has a train embroidered on the front of it. Your stocking at our house has two snowmen on the front of it and your name is embroidered on it. You went to church for the first time this month. We went to the 5 o'clock Christmas Eve service at Sierra Vista United Methodist. You slept most of the time. Our pew was a little crowded, but Nana was sweet enough to hold your car seat and Pop Pop/Grandpa held you for most of the service. He is smitten with you. Well.....all of your grandparents are! We had Christmas Eve dinner at Nana and Pop's house and you got to meet your great Aunt Iris and hang out with Aunt Haley and Uncle Kev. The next day we went to Miles to have Christmas day dessert at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house. You got to meet more of your cousins. You are the 16th great-grandchild on the Lacy side of the family. You are the 8th McCall great-grandchild and the 8th Haley great-granchild. You are the third Harvey great-grandchild. Then we drove to Waco and we had Christmas dinner. Mimi was sick so she had to wear a surgical mask when she held you, but she didn't let that stop her. She had to get her Catfish fix! You went to see your first movie with Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Harv, Mimi and Dado. We saw War Horse and you did pretty well, although Mommy was a little nervous that you were going to cry really loudly. Everything went fine. You ate during the movie! :) You witnessed your first snow this month on January 9th. It snowed almost 3 inches. We took the Bumbo outside and sat you in it and took pics. That night we had about 8 large tree limbs fall in the front yard. It was not fun to go outside in the morning and see that. This month you started smiling more and crying less. You sleep pretty well at nights. You can generally sleep for 5 hours for the first stretch, nurse for 30 minutes, then sleep another two or three hours. You are finally starting to get fat rolls and they look super cute! We are big fans of the ROLLS! We love you so much and are so glad you came into our lives.
Know that you are loved,
Mommy

2 Months

Lane turned two months old on December 13th. It has been a busy month for him. He went on his first long road trip to Waco for Thanksgiving and his first trip to a restaurant (the steakhouse in Gatesville on the way to Waco). He did great in the car; he slept the whole way. He started trying to hold his head up at five weeks and he started smiling a little bit. He is pretty good at holding up his head now, but I may be a little biased. His two month appointment went well....Mommy had to leave right before he got his shots. Daddy stepped in and toughed it out with the little guy. Bless his heart!! He weighs 9 pounds, one ounce now and he is 22 inches. Lane came to work with Mommy when he was six weeks old. Mommy didn't get a lot done, but it was so nice to have him close. At 7 weeks he started daycare and he has done great there. I love the teachers and the staff. He is a sweet boy and we are so blessed to have him. He also got to meet his Uncle Kevin, Cousin Emma, and Cousin Will this month. Happy 2 months, buddy!

Monster Buck

Leland shot a great buck on Saturday evening. It is the best buck he has ever shot. It came in to the feeder around 10 AM and he quickly got a shot off because he thought he might run away. The shot grazed the fence and took a little flesh off the deer and broke one of his legs, but there was no blood trail so he got away. Later that evening Leland went to the stand and saw him again and took a shot at 250 yards. The buck went about 20 yards and dropped. We named him 'El Jefe'. We took El Jefe to Eldorado to be processsed and the owner of the shop mentioned to Leland that he should enter him in the Schleicher County Big Buck contest, so he did. The guy that runs the contest said that the buck is the best he's seen this season. We're hopeful! El Jefe scored 141 1/8 and is currently in first place.
